7:29pm Call to order by Seargeant-at-Arms
7:30pm President opens meeting, introduces themselves, and hands gavel to Chairman for the meeting
7:31pm Chairman outlines meeting agenda
7:33pm Grammarian introduces word for the day
7:36pm Introductions by members (and visitors if they wish)
7:46pm Short business session. Chairman asks for:
  • Quorum
  • Apologies/future apologies
  • Apologies to be accepted
  • Secretary reads minutes of previous meeting
  • Any general business
  • 8:00pm Table topics session. Members (and visitors if they wish) are asked questions to which they deliver a breif response. A brief evaluation is also provided.
    8:20pm Toastmasters session. Members deliver prepared speeches which are then evaluated by another member, providing constructive feedback on the speakers technique.

    MEETING ROLES AND RESOURCES

    Chairman
    The chairman directs, and is responsible for the smooth running of the meeting. A script for this role can be downloaded here:

    Grammarian
    The grammarian is usually the 3rd person in the meeting to introduce themselves (after the President and Chairman). After introducing the word for the day they record any interesting ways that, or other words, are used during the meeting. A script for this role can be downloaded here:

    Table Topics
    The TableTopics Master delivers a series of questions to other members of the club. A script can be downloaded here:

    Table Topics Evaluator
    The Table Topics Evaluator provides feedback to those who have responded to questions during the Table Topics Session. A script for this role canbe downloaded here:

    Toastmaster
    The Toastmasters role is to introduce those who will be delivering speeches, and their evaluators. A scrpit for this role can be downloaded here:
    Toastmaster.doc. Also a brief information sheet to be filled out by members delivering as speech will ensure an accurate introduction and can be downloaded here: Speechinformation.xls.

    Speech Evaluator
    The Speech Evaluator provides constructive feedback to the member who has delivered a speech. Each speech has different aims, and is entered into the members speech manual. A generic speech evaluation formcan be downloaded here:

    Listener
    The Listeners role is to note quotes from throughout the meeting, then ask members who made those quotes at the end of the meeting. A script for this role canbe downloaded here:

    Um Ah Counter
    The Um/Ah Counters role is to tally how many times a memebr has included um/ah/like/youknow/other add ons into their delivery during the evening. A script for this role can be downloaded here:

    General Evaluator
    The General Evaluator provides an evalutation of the evaluators, and how smoothly the meeting went. A script for this role can be downloaded here:
