February 2010 - Thirroul international speech and Evaluation speech competition Jim Ollis won the recent club International Speech competition with Mark Haken as runner up, Barry Moore judging the competition. - It was the reverse for the Evaluation competition with Mark Haken winning, with Jim Ollis runner up.

August 2009 - Thirroul humorous speech competition Mark Haken won the recent Humorous Speech competition with Jim Ollis as runner up, Barry Moore judging the competition.

2008- Luke Yewen does us proud The winner of our club International Speech contest, Luke Yewen, came runner up in the area contest. This contest featured the cream of the crop of speakers across 5 clubs of Area 3. Congratulations to Luke for achieving the best result we have achieved from a member at this contest.
